Actors have an almost infinite amount of information being thrown at them and it can be overwhelming. We understand that firsthand. We’re actors, too.
At The Basecamp™ Community, you’ll tackle all the things you never learned in your acting class with a particular focus on the business of the business, and how to win the mental game, all with a transparent approach. No fluff. No bullsh*t. Just honesty.
Does the following sound like some of your journey and experience as an actor?
It doesn’t have to be this way. Finding the right community is key.
Overwhelmed: Does it feel like you don’t know where to turn, which class to take next, how to get that A+ package, how to determine which reps are the right fit, whose advice to take, what things to invest in, and…and…and…aarrgggh!
Answer: Take a deep breath. You are in this for the long haul. Sometimes we need a plan, sometimes we need guidance. And, sometimes we may just need a mindset refresh.
We’ll fix that. Together.

Frustrated: Are you confused by the complex nature of industry paperwork, and actor finances? Stressed that you’re not booking enough? Worried you might get dropped by your reps? How can you make this all work?

We will get you confident in your industry knowledge, acting like a CEO, and you’ll put your best foot forward, every day, in every way.

Answer: That is felt, deeply, by all actors if we’re being honest. The truth is that no actor is an island, even though we ALL feel that way from time to time.

Who am I?
Alex Collins is a 22+ year member of SAG-AFTRA, with experience in both the LA and Atlanta markets as an actor, content creator, producer of both union films and live theatre, acting teacher, audition coach, and industry consultant.
While motivating and positive, Collins also brings a no-nonsense sense of honesty to his teaching style, focusing more on the practical realities of working in today's industry.
Here at The Basecamp™ Community, Collins strives to be a sherpa*, essentially functioning as a guide, a mentor, and an aide through this difficult, complex, and often confounding career journey, while navigating the industry mountain.

What do I do, really?
Help students climb the industry mountain, even when they don’t know how, can’t see the path themselves, or are afraid to make the necessary moves to advance on their path.
Together, we formulate a plan, put it into action, and refine it as necessary.
When you’re climbing a mountain, you need someone with far more experience helping you-that’s where I come in. For the last 25+ years, I’ve been an actor and for the last 15+ years, I’ve been teaching, coaching, and consulting actors. I’ve been where you want to go.
In just the last five years, I’ve earned over $250,000 as an actor.
Together over the years, students have gained confidence, sharpened their own acting process, secured their dream reps, changed markets, and booked everything from their first co-stars to series regulars, earning millions and living out their dream careers.
The Basecamp™ Community gives you access to each other, access to industry professionals, but most importantly, regular access to me. I am in the trenches with you. I’m auditioning day in and day out. I’m experiencing the highs and lows right along with you.
You’re not getting some former industry anything here, or some actor who hasn’t worked in twenty years. What I am sharing with you is current, relevant, and practical.
Too many teachers are stuck in the past, have no idea what the industry is like today, and honestly, simply haven’t adapted with the times and couldn’t tell you the difference between a VCR and a vertical.
What is The Basecamp™ Community?
A SLACK workspace, available 24/7 for the whole community to connect, regardless of time zone.
Covering a variety of industry topics and conversations, with resources and opportunities to learn. This fosters education, community, and development. In addition, there will be weekly homework assignments that focus specifically on mindset.
These communities are collaborative in nature and since 2018, I’ve curated multiple spaces for actors online, and a lot like Reddit, sometimes the best answers come from within the community itself.
Resources & Educational Documents
Designed to elevate your education and industry knowledge across multiple disciplines, from self-tape checklists, to how to communicate with your reps, to mental health videos, and more, these are available to you on an ongoing basis.
Your first 12 weeks within the Community will provide you with a variety of resources, offering over 75 pages of information.
Office Hours
Offered twice a month so you can get your specific industry questions answered, or come and learn about particular topics of importance in our industry like actor paperwork or the connections you must make on set.
In addition to getting your questions answered, we can talk about some of the homework you’ll be assigned within Slack that focuses on mindset development.
1st/3rd Thursdays, 11am-1pm EST, viz zoom.
Monthly Group Chats
With a warm, conversational tone, these chats will sometimes feature industry pros like series regulars, agents, or casting directors, may include homework prompts to generate conversation, and will always allow for a Q&A session with me, you, and each other.
2nd Monday,4pm-6pm EST, viz zoom.
Discounts
Community members will be the first to know about new offerings, and will be able to purchase both existing and new offerings at a discount. That also includes limited 1:1 consultation sessions, when available.
In addition, partner discounts already exist on a variety of things from WeAudition memberships to headshot sessions with industry pros.
Mix-n-Mingle
New Community members will be welcomed and celebrated, tell us a little bit about themselves, their industry goals, and reasons for joining the Community. They’ll also hear from current members about their journey, etc. We’ll share wins, tier jumps, and insider info.
Sessions take place weeks 1, 13, 25, etc.
Goal Setting Workshop
All Community members will get access to the 3/1/26 workshop The 2026 Reset recording and all current members will have free entry into the next live session, scheduled to take place in early fall or winter.
This workshop empowers actors with the skills to strategically identify a goal vs a vision, how to effectively organize them, and how to achieve them.
Basecamp for The Basecamp™
A community is only as good as its members and its content. Here, we host all of our resources across a variety of platforms designed to meet you exactly where you’re at at any given time.
The SLACK portion of the community is great on the go, via the app. All of our resources, materials, and guides, along with recordings will exist within the TEACHABLE platform. This platform is easy to use and you’ll have your own log in and access. Our live industry chats will take place via ZOOM.
Next steps
VIP Mailing list: For those interested in joining when the doors open, this is the only thing on your to do list, right here. Once you’re signed up, you’ll get a confirmation email. Make sure you add that email address to your contacts and you’re all set.
Keep an eye out: We only open the doors periodically, pending availability, for limited spots inside The Basecamp™ Community and only for a limited time. Once you get that email letting you know spots are available, you need to act fast. Once the doors close, they’re closed indefinitely.
Many actors ask “so, what’s the difference between this and The Mastermind Group” and that’s a great question.
First and foremost, there’s no craft development here, it’s all about everything else related to your acting career.
Second, this doesn’t require an application or approval process, everyone is welcome, at all levels of their career.
Third, this is less of an overall commitment, allowing you to focus on developing your non-acting skills and your acting skills.
